Lately I've been mulling over the kind of content I want my blog to have. It's a result of a.) a general season of evaluation I go through during spring and b.) a joking comment from my cousin questioning the practicality of my outfits. This outfit is leans towards the impractical side; most of you reading this post would be afraid to wear it yourself on a normal day and honestly, same. There are so few days when I dress in the full force of my creative fashion persona. However, I will never stop posting outfits that are a little crazy because they are the reason I fell in love with fashion to begin with. When I think about the crucial, polarizing moments in fashion and blogging, I think of Coachella, the MET gala, fashionweek, and awards season — the times of year when fashion elite truly exercise their positions as fashion elite and dress in their most obnoxious yet theme-adhering garments. I live for those moments.

So how do I come up with some of my outfits? Well this is where I would like to apologize to anyone who has ever had to share a house or room with me because they know the messiness of my process. I go through a "closet vomit", which is where I spend an hour mixing and matching pieces together, and then trying them on to coordinate silhouettes. Clothes fly everywhere. It takes me twice as long to organize my closet all over again. But it's my process and it works. The way I style and photograph everything is inspired by bloggers/Instagram. I think I get the most creative on an outfit when I have a theme in mind.

For this outfit, I wanted the theme to scream "spring". Spring is such a beautiful time: the flowers, the colors, the foliage, the classic feminine touches to clothing trends. This outfit overcompensates for my lack of seasonal adherence during summer, fall, and winter. My favorite item of the season thus far has been patterned pants. I like pairing them with a solid-colored blouse — preferably, something with a statement sleeve. I belted this one in to balance out the shape and not look like a balloon entirely. I topped off with an olive turban to complement the red and pink.

What's your favorite spring trend? Would you wear this outfit? Leave me a comment below so I know you enjoyed the post!
